Applications of Industrial Furnaces

Generally, furnaces are specialized equipment for heating. They are used for many different purposes such as heating up homes, commercial buildings, making pottery and ceramic objects, and melting raw metals for the creation of different objects, among others.

Industrial furnaces are furnaces especially used for industrial plants and factories. They are usually bigger than household furnaces, capable of producing more heat and stronger flames. Furnaces play crucial roles in the operation of a number of industries, especially in the production of goods and manufacturing of products.

Furnaces in different industries

Furnaces especially made for industrial purposes are usually used for many different applications in different types of industries. Among them are the oil industry, chemical products industry, and steel or metal industry, among others. Consequently, industrial furnaces can be found in oil refineries, chemical plants, and metal factories, where high-temperature heat is needed to melt metals for cutting and reshaping. Furnaces in metal industries are especially important in the process of extracting metal from metal ores known as “smelting”.

This type of furnace is also commonly used in industries involving the manufacture of machinery. Machinery manufacturers make use of different types of industrial furnaces including resistance furnaces, crucible furnaces, and vacuum furnaces. Since the creation or construction of machines involves the use of different types of metals in different designs and sizes, furnaces perform different functions in this industry.

Industrial furnaces are also especially useful in glass industries, steel industries, aluminum industries, petrochemical plants, and many other similar industries whose operations involve massive use of heat.
